February 2007, WebCharity has been a not for profit organization dedicated to donating
websites, blogs, forums, social networking group pages (Facebook, MySpace,
YouTube) to charitable organizations, community organizations and startup businesses. These
organizations and businesses do not have the resources to establish and
support a website of their own. Some have had a bad experience with a
website design firm or have been abandoned by the website designer. Our mission is to promote free basic website design, hosting & support for resource strained organizations. There are web designers, developers and fellow Wikipedians that form an online community that support free open source technologies & free internet. This community believes that the internet should be a free and open platform for information, technology, communications and commerce. WebCharity extends their initiatives to those who would prefer to volunteer or donate to a cause inline with their area of expertise and interests. WebCharity is a matchmaker, seeking volunteers (Web Developers) to help these organizations and businesses. Volunteers are mainly Web Designers in profitable businesses that seek to give back and in return receive endorsements from these organizations and businesses, build their rapport, expand their portfolio and track record, for doing good business and helping their community. WebCharity is a 100% volunteer organization. Donations, in the form of content & media, are accepted only to off-set the production cost of website templates.
